As part of the Disaster Resilience Program, in collaboration with headspace Gosford & Lake Haven and CAHMS the following panel conversation considers what lockdowns have taught us about youth mental health and how we can prepare for unpredictable events in the future.
PANELISTS: Patrick Sharples, a clinical lead at headspace who has done a significant amount of work in the area of alcohol and other drugs, Gordon Lau AKA Gordo, an award winning GP who works at headspace Gosford one day a week, and Erin Manu, the head teacher for welfare at Gorokan High School.
How educators can support young people through unpredictable times
Chloe Ryan, an education consultant for headspace schools shares her story and provides insights into how to build mental health in educational settings, both for staff and teachers, and flowing onto students and families. We speak through the 4 pillars of the 'We Made it to Here' Disaster Resilience Program, and consider how these could be applied in educational settings.
